The Poundhas no human heroes, but confused worms, evil cockroaches, fascist ants, paranoid seagulls, mice on the verge of a nervous breakdown and suicidal delirium, philosophizing skulls and sharks that eat whatever they find in front of them, without caring about the consequences of their actions. In an industrial civilization that produces nothing but garbage, “The Pound” came to call a spade a spade and gleefully enjoy the difficult death of irony.
